How Elk Differ from Moose and Deer

Elk are more visually oriented than moose. They respond to a combination of scent and visual/sound stimuli. During the rut, elk bulls are extremely territorial - dominant buck scents trigger an immediate response. Combine attractants with bugling calls for maximum effect.

Elk prefer forest edges and open meadows. Position your attractant site on a transition between dense cover and open feeding area. Set up at least 400 meters from any road or trail to avoid pressure.
